Father Christmas faces a young girl intent on revenge in the Royal Court Theatre's first family festive production, reports ROBERT CUMBER

ADISAPPOINTED youngster hatches a plan to catch Santa in the first family Christmas show to be staged by the Royal Court Theatre in Sloane Square.

Get Santa! follows 10-year-old Holly, who is fed up with asking Father Christmas for the one thing she really wants - to find her real dad - only to wake up each year and find a collection of useless presents at the bottom of her bed.

Determined to finally find the perfect family she's always been looking for, Holly lies in wait for the big man so she can ask him what he has been playing at.

And so begins an amazing adventure in this modern fairytale, as Santa learns never to mess with a 10-year-old.

Holly meets a weird and wonderful line-up of characters, including a dim-witted elf called Bumblehole and a teddy bear with an evil masterplan.

The show is recommended for youngsters aged seven and above, with audiences promised a 'magical, musical and downright mischievous Christmas show with a fresh moral'.

Written by Antony Neilson, whose groundbreaking work includes films The Debt Collector and Deeper Still, the cast includes young Imogen

Doel, making her professional debut, and David Sterne, whose credits include the new big screen adaptation of Gulliver's Travels.

Composer Nick Powell, who collaborated with Neilson on the Royal Court's Relocated, provides the soundtrack, with Miriam Buether providing the set design.
