Sword fights, tights and trees: it can only be outlaw Robin Hood and his band of merry men.

Everybody's favourite master archer - and notorious tax dodger - is the star of a children's show being staged this Saturday by new Wembleybased touring theatre company Ilithua Productions.

Its laugh-out-loud panto-style performance, combining music, song, dance and action, is called Robin Hood and the Legend of the Weeping Willow.

For the 11.30am staging, the 02 Centre in Finchley Road transformed into Sherwood Forest, with a modern twist.

The famous tale of the green-hatted hero from the woods who steals from the rich to give to the poor, in the face of tax hikes by the evil Sheriff of Nottingham to pay for his marriage to beautiful Maid Marian, stars West End actress Christie Leigh, from Harrow.

Producer and co-director Michelene Heine is an actress herself and became involved with the company - whose name means 'opportunity' in Zulu - when pondering what to do with her free time between jobs.

On tour, Michelene made friends with many acclaimed actors and actresses and found they too were also looking for something fun to do during their spare time.

And so the production consists of a professional cast who have featured on television and even the West End.

Michelene says: "I know so many talented people and we all wondered what to do in the interim.

"The comedy has been touring since September but this will be our first big show.

"It's great for kids and families as well as older people - it is 45 minutes of magic and not to be missed by anyone!

"Kids that have seen the show say they laughed all the time and adults have told me that they are going to come again because they enjoyed it so much.

"The aim is to make professional theatre available to everyone.

"We are currently working on our Christmas and 2009 productions but I do feel that Robin Hood should be seen by a wide audience as it brings joy to everyone that watches it."
