In this Diamond Jubilee year, Fulham Palace has chosen a play full of patriotism, pageantry and poetry to open its upcoming outdoor theatre season.

One of Shakespeare’s more dramatic plays, Henry V, tells the story of an inexperienced king who leads a small and weakened army into the battle of Agincourt against the might of the French battalions.

Despite filling his men with confidence, Henry wrestles with his conscience about what it is to be a good king and to lead good men towards a fate so bleak.

The play will be staged in the garden of the palace on Thursday, June 14 at 7.30pm.

Tickets cost £12 for adults, £8 for children. To book tickets, phone 0871 221 1728 or visit http://www.lyric.co.uk
