As thousands of people take on Veganuary this month, independent British brand Fullgreen has added a new product to its vegetable rice line - sweet potato rice.

A first in the UK, each pack is 100% sweet potato with absolutely nothing added, delivering a wholesome, earthy flavour with a sweet and creamy texture.

Vegan-friendly and low in fat, it is ideal for those giving up animal products in January and those trying to shift the pounds following the indulgences of Christmas .

Fullgreen is on a mission to democratise health across the nation with great tasting products that are also convenient and accessible.

Inspiring the community to cook with healthy ingredients, Fullgreen supports positive change in eating habits for fuller, fitter lives.

The independent British brand celebrates "living life to the full" and believes that true healthy eating shouldn’t be confined to the unattainable realms of an over-styled Instagram snap.

Fullgreen's Sweet Potato Rice

The verdict:

Laura Nightingale taste-tests Fullgreen's sweet potato rice...

The all-natural, low-carb vegetable "rice" is prepared easily in the microwave in around two minutes - lovely and convenient if you're hungry and in a hurry.

Counting as one of my five a day, I felt good before I had even opened the packet.

Plus, not that I am watching my weight, each pack contains up to 85% less calories compared to white rice.

The texture of cauli rice

Having already tried Fullgreen's Cauli Rice, which has a cous cous-like texture, it was very similar but had a more creamy consistency.

It was also a bit tastier and robust rather than the mild, nutty flavour of rice or cauli rice.

I really enjoyed it and accompanied with a chilli, I felt satisfied and full afterwards.
