The summer sales are in full swing.

High street retailers such as House of Fraser, Topshop and Debenhams have slashed their prices, meaning lots of savings for shoppers.

For many, the Next sale is the one to look forward to - thanks to its reductions on men's, women's and children's clothing, as well as homeware.

Next rarely confirms when its seasonal sale start, however this time round we have found out the date.

The sale is due to start online on Friday, July 6, according to Birmingham Live .

It will then arrive in stores the following day on Saturday, July 7.

VIP slots for those who have ordered online before will be open a couple of days beforehand - you just have to sign up to get one.

On sale day, Next usually opens its doors at 5am in most stores across the UK.

Store bosses have said doors will open early again for the summer sale event but they haven't confirmed times yet.

Tips for getting the most out of the Next sale

• Become a VIP member by opening a credit account and making an order

• Browse online first to work out what you’re looking for and think about how much you’d like to spend

• Check in store to see if labels have been marked with pencil – according to Money Saving Expert this is a good clue as to whether an item is going to be included in the sale

• Set your alarm early so you can get a place in the queue

• Once inside, go for the higher priced items first, such as coats and shoes, as they’ll have the biggest discounts

• Think before you buy – if you end up never wearing it, it’s not a bargain no matter how much money you saved
