Sports and leisure firm Decathlon is opening a new 18,000sq ft store in intu Uxbridge .

The shop will take the place of the former BHS at intu, which has been closed since the department store chain went into administration in August 2016.

The French brand is opening its new store in the shopping centre on Thursday (October 26) at 5pm and will offer goods for more than 70 sports.

As well as offering equipment for running, fishing, water sports, team sports golfing, skiing and others, Decathlon in Uxbridge will also offer cycle and scooter workshops.

Before the store opens, Decathlon will host a table tennis competition from 12pm to 4pm outside and food and drinks will be served once doors open to the public.

Constanze Zehentmeier, manager at Decathlon Uxbridge, said “Decathlon’s aim is to make sports accessible for the many!

The store will open from 9am to 8pm from Monday to Saturday and 11am to 5pm on Sunday.

It employs 25 people from the local area.

“They have a fantastic range that is sure to be popular amongst shoppers of all ages.”
