Many of us will have vivid memories of growing up in a home with a brightly-coloured bathroom suite.

May it be avocado , peach or turquoise, we assumed the garish shades were a thing of the past. Until now.

As with everything fashion related - leggings, crop-tops or high-waisted jeans - it seems the avocado bathtub has become dare we say it, 'vintage'.

With the demand of avocados (the actual fruit) rocketing , perhaps it was only a matter of time.

What do you make of the revived avocado bathtub?

Luxury interior design company Boundary Space based in Fulham , revived the green suite when a client of theirs in the film industry asked for something unique.

A spokesman for Boundary Space, said: "We wanted to create a sense of glamour and so often designers think glamour and end up with a deco inspired look.

"We wanted a fresher take on a classic design and looked instead to the glamour of PanAM, Farrah Fawcett and the 70’s, which led us to the avocado palette."

Remember the avocado bathtub?

The sink is from Kohler and is a Kathryn pedestal sink, which must be refinished to achieve the colour.

"Kohler are known for their colours and we are discussing with them how we can revive the image of avocado," the spokesman said.

"Similarly, the bath is a Soho from JEE-O which gets custom sprayed, but we would like to work with more suppliers to get colour back into their ranges.

"Hopefully soon all this expensive refinishing will not be needed, and bathrooms can break out of the white and embrace some colour.
