London has arguably the best music scene around, with thousands of talented musicians emerging every day, most of which are unsigned acts waiting for their big break.

Unsigned Friday brings you the very best unsigned music artists from around the capital, as well as giving these acts a platform to promote their music.

This week, getwestlondon's Emily Chudy caught up with rap and hip-hop artist SkillS C.

SkillS C has just come back from a tour with LEL NATION, across America and in the UK.

SkillS C said: "My influences are mainly from the tough times I have been through when I was younger. After my dad passed away when I was seven I struggled to find a way to vent my thoughts, I got in wrong crowds and took wrong turnings as a teenager. But the only thing that helped me was music.

"I was involved in the wrong situations and ended up in prison where I had a lot of time to think, and at the age of 16-17 I decided the only thing that helped was me writing my emotions in a constructive way which I then decided to go and start recording in a studio. That helped me as a person to become the person I am today.

"At the age of 21, I nearly lost my life and had a major incident which motivated me to succeed in music. Not only is music my passion, it's also a part of me and I love finding new ways to be versatile and creative as it helps expand my musical knowledge, I pretty much thrive on every song, video and show I do."

SkillS C said: "My favourite artists are: Cassidy, 2pac, The Weeknd, ASAP rocky, Tyreese, French Montana, Drake, Trey Songz and Beluga ICE.

"I am planning to release an album by the end of the year named 'SkillS VS SkillS C' which defines the good and bad of me and how I'm trying to get the better side out through music. I would like to go on tour and get my name out and open up doors for my career."
