London has arguably the best music scene around, with thousands of talented musicians emerging every day, most of which are unsigned acts waiting for their big break.
Unsigned Friday brings you the very best unsigned music artists from around the capital, as well as giving these acts a platform to promote their music.
This week, getwestlondon 's Emily Chudy caught up with Jake Aldridge, an R&B and Hip Hop artist who has previously been featured on the Unsigned Friday column back in July 2015. Jake returns to talk about his brand single.
Jake came to learn how to rap and write poetry aged 11 after the tragic death of his father. He started performing with a friend and a £12 microphone as he began practising and recording music.
Now a signed artist, the musician has just released a Valentine's Day single, In The Clouds, which features guest vocals from his musician girlfriend Kelly Brooks. The single is available to download for free on Soundcloud .
Jake said: "The new single was produced by Sam Hadfied, AKA Year 92, who is an up and coming producer from Bristol. The track actually features guest vocals from my girlfriend Kelly Brooks, and this is our first ever collaboration together.
"The song has been signed to Vacation Records, who have made it available as a free download and it's is also on Spotify as well."
He added: "Sometimes I think we all have a habit of taking life too seriously and we tend to worry about the smallest of things. I wanted to write a song which went against all of that and reminds people not to take life too seriously and to perhaps not be afraid to live life on the edge.
"The response has been incredible. We've had the song played on Radio stations throughout the UK and in the US too. The local media coverage we've received has also been overwhelming and to see it in the newspapers was really cool.
"My fans, as always, have been an amazing support. The song has only been out for two weeks and it's already received more plays on SoundCloud than my previous single, which was released four months ago!
"We would love to perform this live. Myself and Kelly did it whilst in the car together the other day and that was quite funny. It would be amazing to perform with her properly. Her live performances that I've seen have been phenomenal."
Jake said: "I am currently working on a new single with Sam, and I think it's definitely our best work yet. We'd love to do a music video for it and we're so excited to get this one out.
"It's going to be called Fireman, but the fans may have to wait a while before they get to hear this one. At the end of this year, I'd definitely like to put all of my songs together and release an album."
