Mystery Jets have been announced as a support band for Mumford & Sons at Barclaycard presents British Summer Time Hyde Park this Summer.

The band - who formed at Twickenham 's Eel Pie Island - will be joining Mumford & Sons, Wolf Alice and Alabama Shakes on Friday July 8.

Take That have been announced as the headline act for Saturday July 9.

Mystery Jets catapulted to fame with their hits Undercover Lover and Two Doors Down.

With the arrival of their fifth album, Curve of the Earth - released January 2016 - Hyde Park will be the only place to catch the Mystery Jets in London this summer, before they head off on a world-wide tour.

On their new album, William Rees (guitar and vocals) said: "It's our most personal album so far, it's almost autobiographical in a way for some of the people in the band.

"It's sort of a 'resting place' of our experiences over the last ten years. It's tremendous to have it out, after it took a long time to make, three years.

"We've just finished a UK tour of about four or five shows. The reaction to the new material has been brilliant so far; people already seem to know the words better than we do, and there have been some mosh pits, people coming out with bleeding noses.

"It's been a really good response. We just want to see a continuation of that... It'll be interesting to see how people at Hyde Park take to the new album."

The band will be supporting Mumford & Sons

On the possibility of a sixth album, Rees said: "Definitely, it's hard to say at this point what it'll be like, but we're already thinking about it.

"We're very excited to be playing Hyde Park, it's an honour to have been asked."

In addition to the previously announced bands , Mystery Jets will be joining Nick Mulvey, Baaba Maal, Børns, The Very Best, South Africa's Beatenberg, and Baio (of Vampire Weekend).

James King, senior vice president at AEG Live, said: "Mumford & Sons always deliver amazing shows for their fans. We've tried for many years to get them to come to and headline Hyde Park and so this feels very special for us to have them in 2016.

"The event will feature incredible artists across all five stages and the guys are bringing their full site wide production to deliver what will be a one off summer spectacular.

"The band have helped deliver an unbelievable support bill featuring some of the very best artists including Alabama Shakes and Wolf Alice, who will all make this an unforgettable day out for their fans."
