Legendary rock band Foo Fighters have announced new concert dates to replace missed Wembley and Glastonbury shows.

The Wembley Stadium dates (June 19 and 20), along with a headline slot at Glastonbury Festival, had to be cancelled after frontman Dave Grohl broke his leg on stage in Gothenburg, Sweden, just days before.

The replacement shows will be held at Milton Keynes Bowl and Edinburgh BT Murrayfield Stadium - but the band will NOT perform at Wembley.

Ticket purchasers for the Wembley Stadium June shows will be offered an exclusive allocation of tickets to buy before the general sale at Milton Keynes Bowl.

The Milton Keynes shows will take place on Saturday September 5 and Sunday September 6, and the American rockers will be joined by special guest Iggy Pop.

In a statement on the Foo Fighters website, Grohl said: "You have always stood by our band, and we will always stand by you. Like I say at every show, we wouldn't be here if it weren't for you guys. And I mean that.

"I thank you from the bottom of my heart. And I will do everything I can to come back and give you a night to remember for the rest of your lives as soon as possible."

The band are currently touring in North America before coming to the UK, with an injured Grohl performing on a giant throne covered in guitars.

Tickets for both shows will be on sale from Friday (July 17) at 10am.
