One of the most iconic films in history is being brought to life at the London Palladium in 2018.

The 1939 major motion picture The Wizard Of Oz will be accompanied by a 60-piece orchestra on Friday April 13.

They will showcase the Oscar winning score like never before as the story of Dorothy and friends plays in the background.

Starring Judy Garland as Dorothy, the little girl who found herself very far from home, the film is illustrated by Harold Arlen’s mesmerising songs, which have become standards of The Great American Songbook.

The Wizard of Oz won two Oscars for its soundtrack including Best Original Song for Over the Rainbow

An icon of American popular culture, the film is notable for its use of Technicolour, fantasy storytelling, unusual characters and of course, its musical score.

The Oscar winning film features the iconic song Over the Rainbow as well as the likes of We're Off to See the Wizard.

Wizard of Oz joins a long list of popular films and TV shows being reinvented on stage with an orchestra, including Jaws, Harry Potter and Game of Thrones.
