London has arguably the best music scene around, with thousands of talented musicians emerging every day, most of which are unsigned acts waiting for their big break.

Unsigned Friday brings you the very best unsigned music artists from around the capital, as well as giving these acts a platform to promote their music.

This week, getwestlondon's Emily Chudy caught up with Emmanuel Moise, a rapper and Hip Hop artist, who hails from England, America, and The Ivory Coast.

Emmanuel Moise started creating music at aged 18, and is working on releasing his debut EP later this year.

Emmanuel said: "My music consists of different varieties of cultures including my country of origin Ivory coast also known as Cote d'Ivoire (The Republic of Cote d'Ivoire), England and America.

"Describing my sound comes very much from the heart of my birth place and to where I am currently situated.

"I grew up listening to major music from Ivory Coast, especially the music genre known as 'Coupé-Décalé' and I'm still trying 'till this day to fuse that style of music with Hip Hop.

"My inspiration comes from many different influences through my life and experiences I have faced. I describe my influence by my artistic participation and knowledge. The motivation can derive from different aspects including subject matters."

Fusing music and dance

Emmanuel said: "Based on my personal background of being a dancer, and now as a recording artist, I have managed to use the techniques which both art forms use to understand music, which helps me write and create different concepts within my music, whether that being physically appealing to the emotions or how the individual engages to the music.

"When it comes to favourite artists, it's more than the music, but the characteristics of the individual and lifestyle. My favourites are Michael Jackson, Tupac, DJ Arafat, Pusha T, Lil Wayne, Kanye West and Chris Brown, in that order, including many more."

The musician started creating as a teenager, and used to make music with his elder brother. He began making mixtapes on his laptop at university, and continues to produce music by himself.

Emmanuel said: "I started getting into music at the age of 18 years old because of my older brother, who introduced me to freestyling and creating battles between ourselves, the challenge was to freestyle over a different instrumental without writing on paper over and over again.

"This concept helped with creating new ideas every time and also challenge my music style, even though I write music I use the writing as a guideline, but majority of my lyrics are freestyles."

Emmanuel said: "As my interest into music grew I got my very first Macbook Pro laptop and started recording music with my Apple headphones and due to lack of equipment I still managed to produce four mini mixtapes at home and also in my university dorm room.

"Now I've been able to get all the equipment for a complete studio at my own place, I have continued doing everything by myself as I did when I started."

New music out over the coming year

Emmanuel Moise is currently working on his debut EP, which is due to be released in 2016.

"Currently I'm working on my EP, due to be released in the coming year. However I'm still awaiting the opportunity to perform on stage for the first time as a recording artist regardless the gigs and events.

"The overall focus for me is to get my music heard live and perform my new music to multiple audiences."

Emmanuel said: "The future goal for me is to continue bringing new creative music out and also to get connected to the right team and professionals to recognise my passion for music.

"This will help to create the maximum exposure physically, not only socially over the Internet and also grow and connect with my fan base more overall."
