London has arguably the best music scene around, with thousands of talented musicians emerging every day, most of which are unsigned acts waiting for their big break.

Unsigned Friday brings you the very best unsigned music artists from around the capital, as well as giving these acts a platform to promote their music.

This week, getwestlondon 's Emily Chudy caught up with alternative R&B singer Lizzy B.

The singer has been performing and making music since she was 15 years old, and is currently working on her debut single and EP.

Lizzy B said: "My music genre is alternative R&B; it's based mostly on R&B but mixed in with other genres such as house and jazz. I'm a fan of people like Jessie J, Angel, UK artists mostly.

"I was always into music, but around 15 years old in secondary school was when I first started taking it seriously. I used to be really nervous and self conscious, but it was around that age when I realised I was quite good.

"I started doing YouTube covers and making my own music, which got a good reception. I've just been learning since then."

The musician is about to release her debut single Get Loud, which will be available on iTunes and Spotify this summer.

Lizzy B said: "The new single should be out this summer. It's about, if you're ever feeling down about your abilities, if you're getting pressure from anyone else, just not to worry, push harder and push further. It's all about you, and making a statement and being bold.

"I'm currently working on my debut EP. People have been very receptive of my music so far; I've been booked for shows, festivals and events off the back of it, so it's been very positive."

The singer will be performing gigs and shows in London this summer, and she has high hopes to perform all over the world.

Lizzy B said: "In the future I would love for my music to be recognised globally, as it's quite eclectic and versatile. All kinds of people have responded to my music, even if you don't love R&B, but the different genres that are mixed into it, like jazz.

"I would love to do more shows and just showcase my work and work with other artists."
