The Maccabees will embark on a farewell tour in 2017 which includes two shows at London's Alexandra Palace.

The five piece British rock group will play the venue on Friday, June 30 and Saturday, July 1.

Guitarist Felix White says: "We're planning on these final shows being a huge celebration, thank you and goodbye to 14 years of writing, recording, playing and touring together."

As well as the two London shows the group will also perform a Northern gig in Manchester on June 28.

Earlier this year the group announced their split in a statement to fans which said: "The decision has obviously been an incredibly difficult one, given that The Maccabees has been such a huge part of our lives until now.

"We are very proud to be able to go out on our own terms, at our creative peak and off the back of the best and biggest shows we have ever done."

It followed the release of fourth LP 'Marks to Prove It' which topped the albums chart and a headline set at Latitude Festival.
