Hats off to all the artists, organisers, stage hands and promoters who made the third SouthlandsLIVE a roaring success.

Its popularity seems to be gaining momentum as this annual event amasses more people every time. It may have to be moved into the adjacent field at this rate. Hopefully it won't lose its intimacy and quaintness or West Drayton won't know what's hit it.

To those who couldn't make it, I say you really missed out but make sure you're there for 2016 so you can say "I was there before it went all commercial" as many seasoned festivalites might utter.

If powerful undiscovered indie dance anthems are your thing then According To You, from Staines, might be right up your street this Friday. Especially if your street is Oxford Road, Uxbridge, because that's where they'll be playing their welcome return gig at the Crown and Treaty. More about this talented three-piece here.

It's free entry at The Crown and Treaty before 10pm and £5 after and the music begins around 10.30pm.

Just like SouthlandsLIVE, an event known as Band Habits is having its third airing this Saturday (July 25) at The Angel Pub on Uxbridge Road, Hayes. This time they feature four equally gifted yet incredibly diverse acts: Zealous Yen are a high-energy trio of inventive guys who know a thing or two about time signatures and intricate changes. Imagine a punked up Biffy Clyro and you may get some idea of their sound before you go.

Paper Sun are a gritty, sleazy rock set up who blitz their way through their repertoire of gems quite nicely and psychedelic feedback is put to good affect in Paper Sun's set in a way that Nirvana fans could relate to.

Jeeps consist of quirky songwriter Glen Strachan and multi-instrumentalist Edvina Fahlqvist. Jeeps' songs are as varied and well-arranged as they are left field and appealing.

Last but not least on the bill are The Watchmen. Inspired by the Foo Fighters and Biffy Clyro, this three-piece offer some loud and proud catchy tunes with sing along choruses and hooks galore.

The music kicks off at 8pm and it's FREE ENTRY ALL NIGHT!
