A heads up for fans of the unplugged genre of music, you may want to tune into HayesFM at 9pm on Tuesday (May 24) for the performing talents of the musical duo known as Sectioned .

Songwriters Jo Connor and Mark Fletcher who hail from Slough will be Hayes -bound for the show that airs between 9pm and 10pm.

A year and a half ago Sectioned didn't even exist but now, with 30 original songs under their belt, they're more than ready to rumble across the airwaves.

Taking their name from a branch of mathematics, The Julia Set, a five piece band from Hayes, play Phoenix Bar in High Wycombe this Friday with support from Crossways, Rain City Sirens, Hume and Cry Wolf.

The Julia Set have a vast array of original songs that lie somewhere in the sound spectrum between a progged up Paul Weller and and a modern day Moody Blues. Their material tends to tackle weightier subjects such as religion and inner city working life.

Tickets are available on the door for around £5 and the venue is open until 2am.

There's another open mic/jam night new to Hillingdon . Starting this Wednesday at the Crock of Gold at around 9pm the guys from The Power of Soul will have their gear set up for your pleasure. All you need is a bit of talent and the will to express it to the eager audience that awaits. Have fun.

Be sure to tune into my interactive HayesFM radio show EVERY Tuesday at 9pm to hear live and original performers. PLUS more local live music news.

You can find HayesFM on 91.8FM in London or GLOBAL online .
