London’s biggest free music festival, the Hanwell Hootie, is back for a fifth year.
On Saturday (May 6), Hanwell will play host to over 85 bands across 14 venues, including the all-new 2,000 capacity Viaduct Meadow Stage.
The annual Hanwell Hootie celebrates the life of Jim Marshall OBE, whose company created the famous Marshall amp in 1962.
The festival boasts mix of up-and-coming and established bands serving up a wide range of genres from gospel to grunge to funk to folk.
Jon Ellery, managing director at Hanwell Hootie's sponsors Marshall, said: "Our philosophy with the festival is about celebrating our roots, bringing fantastic live music to Hanwell and putting the area back on the music map.”
Highlights of the 2017 festival include RSVP Bhangra headlining the Viaduct Meadowstage.
Performing on the Sandy Park Stage is the soulful Du Bellows, who Led Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page recently described as said “one of the most interesting and musically adept bands I have seen recently”
