Jools Holland and The Beach Boys are among the acts in a star-studded line-up for next summer’s Hampton Court Palace Festival.
The festival, in its 22nd year, will take place on six dates between June 12 and 24.
Festival regular Holland will kick-off proceedings, with Melanie C, Marc Almond and guest vocalists Ruby Turner and Louise Marshall, as well as his rhythm-and-blues orchestra.
Fireworks and a fanfare will accompany the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra on June 14, before Jamie Cullum takes the stage on June 17.
Pop legends Rick Astley and Jason Donovan will make an unlikely double-act three days later. “I am overjoyed to be playing at Hampton Court Palace this year,” said Astley. “I’ve just moved and live four minutes away, so Jason and I are going to have a garden party before the concert.”
George Benson, a 10-time Grammy award winner, will perform hits and excerpts from his latest album, a tribute to Nat King Cole, on June 23, before Hawthorn hotshots The Beach Boys close the festival on June 24.
“We are so pleased with the line-up,” said festival director Jamie Wells. “We have been trying to get George and Jamie to the festival for a number of years. It is brilliant to be able to bring these established artists along.”
