The Ealing Blues Festival is expected to bring thousands of revellers to the borough when it kicks off in Walpole Park, writes Anand Patel.
The two-day extravaganza is Britain’s largest Blues dedicated event and will showcase some of the genre’s biggest bands.
Connie Lush, Tommy Allen, Johnny Hewitt and Big Boy Bloater & The Limits will be among the favourites on the opening day on Saturday next week (July 19).
The following day will see international singers Earl Thomas and Kathleen Pearson of Kat & Co among the must-see acts.
Bob Salmon artistic director of the Ealing Blues Festival, said “I’m proud of how much the festival has grown. We started in a park with 50 people, now we estimate 10,000 will turn up to this year’s event.
“There will be a vast amount of talent on stage that will appeal to all ages from teenagers who are interested in acts such as Jake Bugg right up to the pensioners who adore the Rolling Stones.”
Admission is £5 per day or £8 for two days for adults, children under the age of 12 get in for free. Pay at the gates.
Doors open at 1.30 pm with performances starting at 2pm until 10pm for both days.
