Children can be whisked all over the world from the Great Barrier Reef and even to Mars when they visit KidZania in Westfield Shopping Centre during half term.

A Google Expeditions pop-up opened at the interactive children’s city on Monday (February 13) and will run until Sunday (February 20).

It will allow children to don virtual reality headsets to explore anywhere in or out of this world.

This immersive experience will not only keep the kids entertained, but will inspire a new curiosity for the world, taking them on fun virtual reality trips – without leaving the Shepherd’s Bush shopping centre.

Among the places on earth and in space that can be visited are The Great Barrier Reef, Northern Lights, International Space Station and the planet Mars.

The interactive kids' city

After a whirlwind virtual reality trip kids will head over to KidZania’s newspaper office and write a column all about their experience.

KidZania also held special events during Halloween .
