From melted chocolate and warm, sweet waffles to refreshing sorbets and home-made ice cream - there are plenty of dishes to satisfy your tweet tooth in west London.

There's traditional Italian gelato, Belgian waffles, French patisserie and plenty more flavours from around the world served right in the heart of the capital.

But where should you go for the ultimate, indulgent treat? Get West London has put together a list of some of the best places to visit for a sugary pick me up.

Of course, we don't recommend eating like this all the time, but there's no harm in treating yourself to something sweet every now and then.

Snowflake Luxury Gelato

Where: 43 Westbourne Grove, London W2 4UA

Pick from over forty delicious gelato and sorbetto flavours, including the parlour's Great Taste Award winners - that's the 'food oscars' to you and I.

All the gelatos and sorbettos are handmade fresh each day, with flavours including banoffee, lime and mint, oreo, sea salted caramel, strawberry cheesecake and more.

If you don't fancy ice cream, there are waffles, crêpes, cakes, brownies, and even afternoon tea!

Maitre Choux

Where: 15 Harrington Road, Kensington, London, SW7 3ES

Maitre Choux is a modern version of a French patisserie, redesigned to cater to all tastebuds.

Three Michelin star chef Joakim Prat bakes all sorts of eclairs, choux and chouquettes each day.

There are plenty of gourmet flavours to choose from - will you be tempted by the Tahitian vanilla and pecan eclair, or perhaps the pistachio and strawberry puree choux?

Motown

Where: 157 Bethnal Green Road, London, E2 7DG

All the sweet treats on this menu are themed with the very best the music genre has to offer including cinnamon funk ice cream and waffles, or the soul food chocolate brownie.

Fancy sharing? Choose from options like the Jackson Five - for two - with a variety of ice cream flavours, fresh fruit, wafers and sauce.

There are also cool cakes, movers and shakers (milkshakes) or other ice cream treats that are easy like 'sundae morning'.

Amorino

Where: 18 Charing Cross Road, London, WC2H 0HR

From sorbet drinks and granita to a classic frappè and gelato, you'll be spoilt for choice.

What makes this place even more luxurious is you can create your own ice cream rose by combining as many flavours as you like to make up the petals.

Flavours include banana, coffee, chocolate, passionfruit, strawberry, caramel, dulce de leche and more.

Other desserts on offer include waffles, crêpes, macarons al gelato and dolce (cakes).

Château Dessert

Where: 213 Chiswick High Road, Chiswick, London, W4 2DW

The shop makes fresh European and Arabic style desserts daily, ranging from small individual baklava to large 200 plus portion cakes.

The store was voted the Best Café in Chiswick 2014 by Timeout readers across London.

Choose from petit fours and macaroons, passion crème brûlée, banoffee pie, Oreo cheesecake and the list goes on.

Dessertz

Where: 65-69 Shepherd's Bush Green, Shepherd's Bush, London, W12 8TX

There's much more to milkshakes here than chocolate or strawberry, there's fruit shakes, ice cream scoop shakes, chocolate bar shakes and more.

If you want something a bit more filling to satisfy your sweet tooth, choose a waffle and any topping you fancy - all served with fresh ice cream or whipped cream.

There are also sundaes on the menu including knicker bocker glory, Oreo, mango mania and more.

Chin Chin Labs

Where: 49-50 Camden Lock Place, London, NW1 8AF

If you want extraordinary ice cream in all kinds of eccentric flavours, this is where you need to go.

All the flavours are frozen with liquid nitrogen and served to eat in or takeaway.

Flavours are changed weekly and include a classics and specials collection - past flavours include Tonka bean, mango and coconut cake, basil chocolate chip, banana melt sundae and more.

Choccywoccydoodah

Where: 30-32 Foubert's Place, Carnaby, London, W1F 7PS

There's both a shop and a café here so if you can't get enough of the chocolate, you can take some home with you.

The bar serves every kind of chocolate cake imaginable with concoctions including orange, Guinness, salted caramel, coconut, brownies, tiffin and more.

There are also dipping pots of fondue available along with ice cream shakes, different kinds of hot chocolate and more.

Wafflemeister

Where: 369 Oxford Street, Mayfair, London, W1C 2JW

From sweet and savoury waffles to classic liège waffles, this is a dessert haven.

Toppings include cookies and cream, strawberry heaven, churro, triple chocolate and more.

Crêpes are also available on the menu along with sundaes, ice cream, milkshakes and frappès.

Nosteagia

Where: 94 Piccadilly, Mayfair, London, W1J 7BP

Nosteagia is adapted from Nostalgia, where tea symbolises "nature, health, and courteousness".

It was created by two graduates, who wanted to combine Asian food with English local food and bring them to people in an innovative way.

Enjoy sweet bubble waffles in a variety of flavours served alongside tapioca bubble tea.
