A new microbrewery launches in west London on Saturday (July 8).

Local brothers the Jeffries, George, 24, and Freddie, 26, hope to put Barnes, near Hammersmith , on the brewing map with Jeffersons.

They will launch the microbrewery and their three initial core beers at Barnes Fair on Saturday (July 8) where they will run the beer tent between 10am and 6pm.

The core beers are Thirsty Eagle, an American Blonde Ale (4.2%), Big Ocean, a Transpacific IPA (6.0%), and Hikari Ichi, a Japanese Very Pale Ale (3.8%).

A fourth seasonal autumnal beer will come in September.

A statement said Jeffersons beers "are designed to help the beer drinker enjoy and uncover hops from around the world".

Freddie Jeffries said: “With an almost unquenchable appetite for good beer, we’ve spent the last five years brewing with hops from all over the world.

"What started with experimentation and home brewing quickly escalated to the point where we had acquired the skills and knowledge to go commercial.

"We’re extremely lucky to be able to do that in the town we’ve grown up in and can’t wait for the local community to join the hop exploring adventure.”

His brother George added: “Our brewery may be located in Barnes, but we’ve taken a totally global approach.

"We believe the beer drinker should not only get to enjoy the beer their drinking but also to learn a bit about what’s in it and what each hop brings to the table.

"By designing a range of beers that put hops from all over the world on a pedestal, our promise is to take beer lovers on a journey to discover an array of new hops and flavours.”

Cold draught beers and six-bottle gift boxes will be on offer at Barnes Fair.

Jeffersons will also showcase their beers at the Barnes Food Festival at Barnes Pond on Sunday September 17.
