A Japanese eatery in Willesden Green has been named one of the top five restaurants in London in the £40- to £49-a-head category by a respected eating guide.

Sushi-Say in Walm Lane came fourth in the pricing bracket in the newly-published Harden's London Restaurants 2015 book, the original 'user-generated content' survey conducted by restaurantgoers.

The business, which is run by sushi chef Katsuharu Shimizu and his wife Yuko, actually achieve the highest rating in the food category for restaurants priced between £40 and £49.

Harden's website gives Sushi-Say five stars out of five for food, four for service and two for ambience.

It sums up the place as: "Don’t let the unlikely Willesden Green location fool you – this unassuming café is 'definitely one of London’s best Japanese restaurants', and 'proof that authentic Japanese grub needn’t leave you hungry and bankrupt!'"

The top-five placing in the Harden's survey follows the receipt in September of a Bib Gourmand - an accolade given by Michelin Guides to outlets that serve 'good food at moderate prices'.
