Thousands of people flocked to Syon Park over the May Bank Holiday weekend to celebrate the 10th year of the Foodies Festival.

Families, friends and couples enjoyed a day out on the Duke of Northumberland's lawn, which was turned into a gourmet haven with a huge selection of mouth-watering dishes from around the world to try.

Dozens of chefs cooked up a storm live in front of audiences in the gardens over three-days - between Saturday (May 23) and Monday (May 25) - which saw 28,722 visitors welcomed to Brentford.

This year's new tasting theatre proved to be extremely popular introducing festival-goers to the latest foods and flavours from Japanese to Bengali to vegan, as well as local experts guiding visitors through oyster shucking, mushroom foraging and bee keeping.

Chocolate, cake and bake masterclasses were also held with top pastry chefs, chocolatiers, bakers, sugarcraft experts and jam and preserve makers giving audiences a chance to roll up their sleeves and lend a helping hand.

The chocolate, baking and preserves village was also a big hit for those with a sweet tooth.

At the heart of the festival was street food with vendors offering a selection of delicious dishes from Argentinian steak, local pulled pork and British sausages and burgers, to Thai curry, falafel, vegetarian sushi and Spanish paella, plus much more.

Drinks were in full flow with stations for champagne, beers, ciders, a Pimm's teapot and one of London's iconic red buses was transformed into a bar, and there was live entertainment on stage from local singers and a silent disco to let your hair down.

If you missed out this year then fear not the Foodies Festival will be back in Syon Park in 2016!
