The 'Upstairs@Friends' spot on Saturday, March 6, will be filled by Douce Ambience, comprising local guitarists Seb Wesson and Nigel Wheeler, whose influences include Django Reinhardt and Biréli Lagrène.

The Rollin' Stoned

A TONGUE in cheek tribute to one of the best rock and roll acts of all time, with shamelessly camp costumes and genuine vintage instruments.

They have been described by Keith Richards' mother Doris as fit to stand in for the Stones - which is just about as good an endorsement as possible for any covers band.

A typical two-hour set includes not only the classic crowd-pleasing hits, but is spiced with enough eclectic selections from the deeper recesses of the Stones' archives to satisfy the most demanding of buffs.

Showcase of up-and-coming musicians

A FORTNIGHTLY acoustic open mic night has been launched at a South Harrow pub.

Barry Reeves, a customer of The Half Moon in Roxeth Hill and a folk rock guitarist, started Barry's Acoustic Sessions to showcase upand-coming musicians.

He said: "It's for people who are good but are unsigned. It can be difficult for them to get gigs and often you have to pay to play.

"I want to build up an audience of people who want to come and see good indie, folk or acoustic music.

"It could be a partly open mic and then we'll have a couple of longer sets from invited guests."

"The leading man and leading lady are a bickering divorced couple who are secretly still in love, and the second leads are a gambler and a flirt.

"Add a couple of gangsters and some great Cole Porter songs - So in Love, Too Darn Hot, Brush Up Your Shakespeare - and much more.
