TAKE part in living history as the annual Medieval Festival returns to Ruislip.

The hugely popular two-day event, inspired by the medieval heritage of

Manor Farm and the surrounding areas, promises to be fun for all the family.

Attractions include combat and jousting on horseback, a medieval village, activities in the 800-year-old Great Barn, craft demonstrations, and the Duck Pond Market.

A four-course medieval banquet with locally sourced ingredients, accompanied by authentic period entertainment, will take place on Saturday starting at 7.30pm.

Rolling Stoned

DUBBED as 'just like the real thing' and 'about as true to the originals as you can get', Rolling Stoned are making a welcome return to Ruislip. The six-piece Rolling Stones tribute act is gearing up for another crowd-pleasing show, complete with shamelessly camp costumes and vintage instruments.

Fans can expect to enjoy a wealth of well-known hits as well as more obscure tracks from the deeper recesses of the Stones' archives.

Sling your hook

BAIT your hook and prepare to catch a big 'un with a fun family fishing day at Little Britain Lake.

Equipment, bait and rod licence exemptions will be provided, plus there will be prizes for the 'catch of the day', together with entertainment including a bouncy castle, face painting and refreshments.

The free event, which is organised by Hillingdon Council in partnership with Les Webber's Angling Projects, will also provide the opportunity for budding fishermen to speak to representatives from local angling societies, the Environment Agency and Junior Coarse Angling UK.

Learn all the skills of the circus

ROLL up, roll up for a circus-themed holiday fun afternoon workshop at The Windmill Studio Centre in Ruislip.

The sessions include juggling, plate spinning, stilt walking, tightrope walking, dressing up, face painting and games. Participants can also learn the art of becoming a clown or crack the whip as the ringmaster!

The centre will also host a sun, sea and beach party on Friday, jam packed with music, dancing, games, prizes, props and refreshments. Come along in fancy dress if you wish.

Both events are suitable for children aged four to eight and advance booking is essential.
