WONDERS of the world is the theme at this year's Hayes Carnival.

The event starts with a traditional parade, featuring the sights and sounds of Brasilian samba, stiltwalkers and handmade floats, including environmentally friendly low-powered trailers and bicycles. Then revellers can sample entertainment and food from around the globe, stalls, workshops, comedy, music and dance performances, as well as a funfair and a wealth of other activities.

Get down to vintage fair

A FUN-FILLED vintage fair will raise vital funds for Michael Sobell House hospice.

There will be an antiques valuation, tea rooms, hair and beauty makeovers, a vintage fashion show and children's entertainment.

A funky choir will provide the backing music and visitors can learn how to swing dance or check out an exhibition of classic cars.

All proceeds go to the hospice.

Summer picnic

FRIENDS of Eastcote House Gardens will host a summer picnic with an art exhibition, many charity stalls, a tug-of-war and face painting, as well as refreshments and much more.

A memorial seat dedicated to the memory of the late Sheila Liberty, former chairwoman of the Eastcote Conservation Panel, will be unveiled.

Four-day festival of arts and crafts

A CHURCH is celebrating art and craft in a four-day festival.

Painting, photography, flower arranging, Peruvian crafts, ceramics, sugarcrafts, needlecrafts and much more will be on on offer at St Jerome Church.

Most of the work will be available to buy and refreshments will be offered to all visitors.

The history of the Royal British Legion

A LOOK Back At 1921 continues the celebrations of Royal British Legion's 90th anniversary.

A string of events have taken place in the borough since the beginning of June to mark the occasion.

Northwood Library takes its turn to host a history session, which includes information about the formation of the war veterans group.
