JOIN hundreds of men and women who will be donning Santa Claus costumes for a charity fun run in aid of a fantastic local cause.

Michael Sobell House (MSH) hospice, based at Mount Vernon Hospital, is hosting its first Santa Dash on Saturday.

For a £10 entry fee, runners will receive their own costume and a sack of gifts to be delivered to patients at the hospice, which needs to raise £1.2million every year to maintain its vital palliative care services.

The run will follow a marshalled route back to the hospice, in Rickmansworth Road.

Anyone aged 16 and above can take part, at their own pace.

Songs of festive joy

GET into the festive spirit with an evening of Christmas carols courtesy of Uxbridge Choral Society. The successful amateur choir, which boasts about 80 voices, hosts two main concerts every year. For this event, they will be joined by children from Oak Farm Junior School Choir.

The concerts will be performed twice, starting at 5pm and at 7.30pm, both led by conductor Jeff Stewart, a professor at the Royal College of Music, who has performed in most of the great oratorio works in opera houses and recitals across the globe.
