DISCOVER the amazing art of marquetry - making pictures, decorative designs and patterns with skillful use of natural and coloured veneers of wood.

The separate parts of each picture are cut to shape, assembled and glued to a background.

It is easier than people think - all you need is reasonable eyesight and a steady hand.

The Harrow Marquetry group hosts regular talks and demonstrations, visits and outings - a great way to meet new people and make friends. All the tools can be purchased from the group's shop.

Members meet every Friday and everyone is welcome to try their hand or just watch others in action. The first visit is free, an annual subscription is £45, and if you join now you pay half the fee.
