School's nearly out for the summer holidays, with most west London borough state schools breaking up for summer early next week.

But six weeks is a lot of time to keep the little ones entertained, so we've compiled a list of 10 fun activities that children will love.

Take them to the farm, go trampolining, or even treat them to an incredible museum exhibit... Just don't let them get bored!

Enjoy a free cinema event

Bell Square, in Hounslow, is home to amazing free street theatre and, on Saturday August 29, from 12pm-4.30pm, Kinovan, a travelling free cinema is coming to entertain the masses!

The cinema event "will showcase a range of captivating footage filmed in Hounslow giving residents a fascinating insight into the history of the borough, with the oldest film dating back to 1912".

Come and join in this community event for a fascinating, unusual afternoon of nostalgic culture.

Go to the farm

Spend the day surrounded by cute piggies and cheeky llamas at Hounslow Urban Farm; let your children feed the sheep and goats, or, if you're feeling brave, hold a snake or spider in the creepy-crawly section.

Hounslow Urban Farm is only £7.50 for an adult ticket, so you can enjoy a whole day out in the sun without breaking the bank.

Go trampolining

London's first ever trampoline park is opening on Monday (July 20) and is set to be loads of fun!

Oxygen is 27,000sq-ft and offers hour-long freejumping sessions with access to dodgeball courts, air bags, 'walk the wall trampolines' and an obstacle course.

Oxygen also offers family bounce sessions, fitness classes, a professional trampolining academy for aspiring gymnasts, parkour classes, and Teen Takeovers which include two hours of strobe-lit bouncing with a live DJ.

Private rooms for children's parties and PE lessons for schools, and a café area with homemade pizza, make the centre a perfect day out for the whole family.

Visit Kew Gardens

Kew Gardens has a beautiful array of natural life, flowers and activities, including a museum house and a Japanese Pagoda; perfect for taking the children for a fun day out on a sunny day.

See amazing butterflies

Children can see species such as swallowtail, blue morpho, the moon moth and many others originating from Africa, Southeast Asia and North and South America, and take part in games, activities and challenges that teach more about the sensory world of the fluttering creatures.

A brilliant activity for any little one who loves animals and creatures, and perfect for a day out to visit the rest of the museum.

The exhibition will go on until September.

Play in a fountain

What better way to cool down on a hot summer's day than to run and play in a play water fountain? With fountains all over west and central London, including Kingston Upon Thames, Piccadilly, Knightsbridge, Hyde Park and more that allow children to play in, make a splash this summer!

Playing in public play fountains is completely free as well... Just pack a change of clothes!

Go to a concert

Opera Holland Park are staging a performance of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland from July 16 to August 1; this fun and sensory opera for children provides a perfect day out in the sunshine this summer.

Fall down the rabbit hole and enjoy music and drama in the open air.

Visit a fun family day

This Sunday (July 19) from 12noon, a fun family day is being held in Chinatown, Soho.

The streets of this area in central London will be full of colour and activity perfect for any age.

All activities are free and include; an Indonesian orchestra, magicians, jugglers, stilt walkers, lion dance procession, treasure hunt, ribbon-dancing sessions, workshops in screen printing and fan making and much more! Don't miss out on this fun day!

Go to the theatre

The Lyric Theatre has announced a Little Lyric theatre season, specifically for children to enjoy. Performances include children's classics such as Pinocchio, Puss in Boots and Goldilocks and the Three Bears.

Watch a rooftop film

Kensington Roof Garden has collaborated with the Rooftop Cinema Club to bring outdoor cinema on top of a roof! Watch the sun go down and snuggle into a big, cozy blanket with a fab film.
