Lovers of live and original talent are spoilt for choice on November 27. Two major events showcasing the cream of locally grown guitar based rock clash on this fateful Friday.

Firstly the firmly established weekly Yuck Indie night at The Crown and Treaty pub on Oxford Road offer you the female dominated (and fronted) fivesome known as Lips with their unique brand of dub/rock/ska. Now on their fourth Treaty outing Lips have material from their exciting new EP to lay on the gathered masses. Regular performers on my radio show, Lips are a tight outfit with stunning stage presence.

Supporting Lips at the historic pub and now legendary music venue are Eørl Grey. Nope. I don't know how to pronounce it either. It's free entry to the Crown and Treaty before 10pm and £5 after. Yuck Deejay Steven will take over the entertainments deep into the night. 3am close.

Further afield down the Uxbridge Road in Hayes lies The Angel public house. Here is where another equally popular although less frequent event will be taking place. Band Habits as it is known have four fantastic acts just for you. Arcade Fortress are a powerful rock four piece from Ruislip .

Also from Ruislip and also a four piece are The Saffrons. With melodious, infectious and catchy ditties The Saffrons are quirky, light and can pull quite a crowd.

Hounslow 's foursome of acoustic pop troubadours Honeybadger seem to centre around the song writing talents of front man Rob Vaughan who's recently been recording at JBJ Studio in Hillingdon .

A superb songwriter from London known as William Nein is the only solo act on the bill and I believe he'll be opening the show at the Angel at around 8pm where it's free entry all night.
