London is one of the most-filmed cities in the world, and it's hard to think of the capital without picturing one of the hilarious, hard-hitting or emotional TV shows that have been set here.
And west London is no exception, with plenty of amazing TV shows being filmed in parts of it as well as inside the famous Ealing Studios.

Miranda (2009 - 2015)
Miranda is a hilarious one-woman comedy about a woman called Miranda, played by Miranda Hart, as she bumbles, falls and shouts her way through life.
Have a look in the background of Miranda from time-to-time and see Kingston Upon Thames in the background! The BBC programme is set in Surrey and filmed primarily at the BBC Television Centre in Shepherd's Bush.
The Inbetweeners (2008 - 2010)
Crude comedy The Inbetweeners was a favourite for secondary school pupils all over England when it first aired, focusing on the character Will as he attempts to get through life at a new school... Namely, Ruislip High School!
Filled with silly comedy, hilarious jokes and cringe-worthy moments, The Inbetweeners now has two films out, as well as the original three series.
My Family (2000 - 2011)
My Family, a sitcom focusing on a grumpy dentist, Ben Harper, and his rather dysfunctional family, was set in Chiswick.
Starring Robert Lindsay, Zoë Wanamaker and Kris Marshall, My Family is a proud edition to west London's TV history.
Outnumbered (2007 - 2014)
Outnumbered is a family comedy about a school teacher and a personal assistant who are "outnumbered" by their three naughty children. With five series under their belt, Outnumbered is one of England's best-loved comedy series.
The show is set in Ealing and filmed on location in Wandsworth.
Black Books (2000 - 2004)
BAFTA award-winning Black Books follows the lives of moody bookshop owners in London.
The hilarious comedy was set in Bloomsbury and primarily filmed at Teddington Studios in south-west London.
The Kumars at Number 42 (2001 - 2006)
The Kumars at Number 42 follows aspiring talk-show host Sanjeev Kumar as he interviews celebrities in his Wembley home... That is, if his family would stop butting in!
The award-winning show is set in Wembley.
The IT Crowd (2006 - 2013)
The IT Crowd is considered a cult classic due to its hilarious and highly-quotable script. The show follows two IT nerds and their exasperated "relationship manager" as they work in Reynholm Industries' IT department.
The IT Crowd is set in the fictional central-London address, 123 Carenden Road, and partly filmed in Teddington Studios.
Dramatic new TV show Humans, currently being shown on Channel 4, was partly filmed at Alec Reed Academy in Northolt. The programme is a drama focused on the development of "synthetic" humans designed to help real humans around the house and in healthcare... With dire consequences!
Principal of the school, Gary Lobbett, said: "I am absolutely delighted the Alec Reed Academy was chosen by Channel 4 for the filming of their new TV drama.
"Our excellent facilities are perfect for filming. Students and staff were very surprised to see their classrooms appear in the first episode of Humans earlier this term.
"There has been real excitement at the Academy and it is very good to have been involved."
The Wombles (1968 - 1976)
The Wombles is an old-school cult classic TV show. Wombles are fictional furry creatures that live in burrows, where they aim to help the environment by collecting and recycling rubbish in creative ways.
The Wombles lived on Wimbledon Common and are affectionately named "The Wombles of Wimbledon".
Made in Chelsea (2011 - present)
Dramatic, gossip-fuelled Made in Chelsea is filmed in none other than Chelsea (and some parts of Fulham and Knightsbridge, of course). The gang are often seen in prestigious locations around west London and eating at the best restaurants we have to offer.

Minder (1979 - 2009)

24 (2001 - 2010)
24 is an American drama focusing on the life of Jack Bauer, who works at a Los Angeles–based Counter Terrorist Unit; the final series was filmed in London.
Getwestlondon reader Lee Johnson said: "The last season of 24 was shot in the Gillette's building and other areas of West London.
Another reader, Leanne Exelby, commented: "And opposite my house in Greenford. I remember watching them film from my bedroom window."
