A science fiction film being shot in west London imagines how the area might look in the year 3000 AD.

The Bounty Killers Part 1 is being recorded in Isleworth, Hounslow, Whitton and surrounding areas.

It is very much a family affair, with producer Mark Simmons, who also plays the villain, appearing alongside his son Alexander and daughter Rebecca.

The short movie follows the fortunes of two teenagers in dire straits who set out to capture the galaxy's most wanted criminal, Zon, with an astronomical bounty on his head.

Although the film is set 1,000 years from now - and features a brigade of clones and a holographic computer programme - it is being shot on a shoestring and Mr Simmons has a nifty trick to keep costs down.

"It's set in a place called Planet Retro so not too much has changed physically, though we're going to add some futuristic towers in the background," says the 51-year-old, who lives in Isleworth.

"It's the first episode in a four-part story, which I first shot when I was very young but now feel I can do justice to."

The film is being produced and directed by Mr Simmons and Art Kavali, of Wembley, who are the co-founders of VIP-Productions.

Recording is still taking place, before Mr Simmons adds the CGI wizardry at his home editing suite. He hopes to secure a local screening as well as making the movie available on Youtube.

The screenplay is by Dziko Kazembe, the soundtrack comes courtesy of Mixed Company - an Uxbridge-based blues band - and Surfa Rosa, and Radio Hayes DJ Waynee Hyland plays the Retrogrades, a brigade of cloned guards.
