Spencer Matthews may be a big dog in Chelsea but it appears he hasn’t quite made it in Hollywood after actor Leonardo DiCaprio mistook him for hotel staff.

The Made in Chelsea star claims he bumped into the Oscar-winning actor while at a lavish party in the Caribbean but was left feeling like a nobody when he didn’t recognise him.

Spencer told The Sun: “We had a chit-chat about whether he was having a lovely time, liked the hotel, whether we’d be seeing him back - I sounded like I worked at the hotel.”

The 25-year-old hotel heir, who is often seen filming decadent scenes in Chelsea for the reality TV show, confessed he regrets asking the questions as it lead to the Wolf of Wall Street star thinking he worked at the resort.

Despite missing out on becoming Leo’s new best friend, Spencer admitted the actor had a "cool aura about him".

In another blow to Chelsea’s resident lothario, the Hollywood heavyweight previously confessed he idolises a number of other big-time stars.

Speaking about his fitness inspiration, he said: “Brad Pitt’s a bit of a looker, isn’t he? He’s alright.

“He has a pretty good chassis on him. Ryan Gosling, he looks pretty good, I must say.”

Better luck next time, Spenny!
