Film-makers could find a future star when they hold an open casting session for a new major film in Hammersmith.

They are looking for extras to appear in a film on the life of celebrated New York operatic singer Florence Foster Jenkins.

It is being made by The Queen and High Fidelity director Stephen Fryers and produced by the team behind Philomena and Eastern Promises.

The film will show Meryl Streep in the leading role, and will also star Hugh Grant and Simon Helberg.

The auditions will be held for men and women aged over 16 at St Paul’s Church, in Queen Caroline Street, on April 11, between 10am and 5pm.

Filming is expected to take place in London on various days in May, June and July.

No previous experience is necessary but all actors must be entitled to work in the UK.
