A multi-million pound cinema in South Ruislip is set to open its doors for the first time this summer.

The Cineworld branch will open at the former Express Dairies site in July as part of a £100million scheme to revamp the area.

It will feature eleven screens showing the latest Hollywood and Bollywood releases, a Starbucks and a Baskin Robbins ice cream counter.

Artists impression of how the area will look

Sam Tomlinson, Cineworld South Ruislip general manager, said: “I am very excited to be part of this new project and am looking forward to bringing a new multiplex cinema to Ruislip.

"Cineworld has fantastic career prospects and is a brilliant company to work for."

The Arla site development includes a new Asda store and petrol station, five restaurants, as well as a total of 163 one, two, or three-bedroom homes.

More than 500 jobs will be created from the scheme with Cineworld recruiting 59 jobs alone.

Last year, Oliver Weston, development surveyor at Citygrove Securities, which manages the overall site, said: “This site was vacant for many years and needed to be brought back into active use to benefit local residents.

“The leisure facilities will provide opportunities for families to eat, shop and watch a movie without having to travel further afield.

“Importantly, the scheme has been designed around significant new public realm, to provide a focal point for the town centre of South Ruislip ."
