Sword fighting, falconry displays and ferret racing will be among the attractions at Cranford Park's annual family day on Saturday July 25.

Visitors to the park will be able to see its rich history as a former hunting estate with links to royalty brought to life on the day.

Medieval knights, like those who occupied the grounds in the 13th and 14th century, will trade blows and the ghostly Grey Lady will also be putting in an appearance at her favourite haunt.

The historic stables and secret garden, which are among the last remnants of the Earl of Berkley's old hunting lodge, will be open as will St Dunstan's Church, which is believed to date back to Saxon times.

There will also be an animal farm, storytelling and clay brick-making for children at the free event in the park, on the borders of Hounslow and Hillingdon boroughs.

Cranford Park Family Day will take place on Saturday July 25, from 11am to 4.30pm, in the Stable Courtyard of Cranford Countryside Park, off The Parkway A312, Cranford. For more information visit www.cranfordparkfriends.org.
