A leading Kensington hotel is opening up its library to bookworms to celebrate the 17th World Book Day.

Crowne Plaza Kensington in Cromwell Road is encouraging people to read more by offering up its luxurious library for people to wander in all day for free on Thursday (March 5) and snuggle down with one of its many books.

Supported by one of World Book Day’s official charities, Readathon, the hotel will also be offering complimentary tea and coffee in the library overlooking its tranquil gardens.

Guests will be invited to an evening reception with Readathon to learn about their campaigns which encourage children to read through sponsored reading challenges.

Children from two local schools, Holy Trinity CE Primary School and Ashburnham Primary, will also be taking part in the day with renowned author Sue Hendra reading her latest book, Dave’s Breakfast Blast-off.
