Nature safari and river dipping are among the fun things to do as part of the Thames Explorer summer play scheme.
In Chiswick, river dipping sessions will start off with a bird walk before using nets and spotter sheets to catch and find river creatures from crabs to eels, while those who want to go exploring with Eric the Eel will have the chance to experience the river through play, storytelling and some hands-on activities.
In Richmond, boat trips will include activity sheets so children can keep a record of any wildlife they see, while the nature safari will have a pick and mix of activities and games including art, mini beast hunting and puzzles.
The projects are fully funded by BBC Children in Need, the De Freitas Trust and Hampton Fuel Allotments Charity.
The summer play scheme runs from Monday August 3 to Friday August 21.
