A free feast of food and fun will be served up in Hounslow's Bell Square at a Big Lunch party this Sunday (June 7).

Revellers can enjoy entertainment including face painting, Bollywood dancing and live music in the square at the western end of Hounslow High Street from midday to 3pm. They can also sample free food at the event, sponsored by the banking group Halifax.

The party is one of hundreds of Big Lunch celebrations, designed to bring communities together around the picnic table, taking place across the country.

Other events taking place as part of the Eden Project's Lottery-funded initiative include the Church Street party in Isleworth, on Saturday (June 6).

Michael McCudden, branch manager at Hayes Halifax and organiser of the Bell Square event, said: "We're really excited about this year's Big Lunch in Bell Square.

"We’ve got lots of things planned from music and Bollywood dancers to activities for children to join in with, including face and nail painting, decorating of cakes and biscuits and tablecloth painting.

"We've managed to get a couple of gazebos so whatever the weather, we will be sure to have a great day.

"The Big Lunch provides a great opportunity for us to talk to people on a more personal level and really helps strengthen relationships in the community."
