Star comedians are joining forces to present a fundraising gala in aid of Harry Potter star, Jim Tavaré, who was left fighting for his life after a car crash.

Harry Hill, Alan Davies and Dara O’Briain will take to the Lyric Theatre's stage in Shaftesbury Avenue, on Monday June 10.

The benefit night was organised after Jim Tavaré, best known for his role as Tom the Inn Keeper in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, was seriously injured.

"I had a head on crash in America," Tavaré said. "I went from deadpan to bedpan in an instant.

"I broke my neck, collarbone, sternum, 15 ribs.

"Both lungs collapsed. My hand was sheered off at the ligaments.

"I suffered multiple breaks in my right leg, my ankle exploded and my heel was smashed off."

Dara O'Briain will be one of the performers

The actor spent three weeks in intensive care in the USA battling for his life.

As Tavaré‘s US medical costs have risen and with months still ahead of physical therapy and care, Tavaré‘s friends on the UK comedy circuit have stepped in to help.

"The support and kindness from the comedy community during my recovery has been overwhelming, I can’t thank everyone enough for helping me through this," the actor added.

"This amazing benefit featuring a world-class line-up is incredible and I’m so grateful to all involved.

"I just wish I were there to see it."

Tavaré‘s UK comedy friends Stewart Lee, Jo Brand, Omid Djalili, Arthur Smith, Milton Jones, Paul Chowdhry, Gina Yashere, Dave Johns, Hal Cruttenden, Zoe Lyons, and Paul Zerdin will also perform.

Harry Hill said: "Me and Jim go back a long way.

"I was his support act a couple of times and have a lot of fond funny memories of terrible gigs in terrible places.

"He also happens to have one of the only perfect visual routines I know - the Plug Socket Bit."
