A major art-world duo are back in town.

It's not even two years since curator Sir Norman Rosenthal hosted German artist Georg Baselitz for an overwhelming retrospective at the Royal Academy (RA). And now the two are re-teaming to unveil Baselitz's new series of paintings at the commercial gallery White Cube.

It's entitled Mrs Lenin and the Nightingale, but don't be put off by the sound of 16 upside-down paintings of Lenin and Stalin sat together.

Baselitz is one of those art-magicians that rarely misses the mark when it comes to halting gazes in their tracks.

Georg Baselitz, Mrs Lenin and the Nightingale, runs at White Cube, Mason's Yard, Picadilly, until March 21. Entrance is free.
