Worried about being bored over the holidays? Worry no more, as the annual Feelgood Academy summer school is coming to Northwood!

From Monday August 10 to Friday August 14, with a performance on Saturday August 15, local children and teenagers can get involved in singing, dancing and acting at a special summer school.

The school involves coaching by theatre professionals Penny Lane and Owen Smith, and builds to a performance of Feelgood Academy The Musical.

Singing teacher Penny Lane co-wrote the musical Feelgood Academy, and last year developed and ran the summer school for the first time; the school saw students singing and dancing, and culminated in two performances of the musical.

Lane said: "I give singing lessons to children local to Harefield and the surrounding areas, and some of my students have gone on to perform professionally in West End shows.

"Feelgood Academy focuses on the issues of self belief faced by teenagers and will start to be performed by schools and amateur dramatic groups next year. It's got loads of great songs and the students love it."

A reviewer for LondonTheatre.com, on Feelgood Academy The Musical, said: "I, for one, will certainly look forward to following Feelgood Academy's journey and hope to see it in the West End at some point in the near future. At the end of the day, it's great entertainment, a good night out, and for me, that is what it's all about."

The summer school costs £145 for a single booking, which includes one ticket for the matinée performance of Feelgood Academy on Saturday August 15.
