ART lovers can enjoy a visual feast at a special spring exhibition by two creative societies.

More than 100 works are on display at the Harrow Arts Centre, Uxbridge Road, Hatch End.

The works are being exhibited by Harrow Arts Society and the Wembley Arts Society.

This is the first time the groups have staged a combined exhibition and visitors may even be able to take home a piece of affordable art, with many works priced from £30 to £1,000.

Exhibition organiser Margaret Mountstephens said: "We usually exhibit in Gayton Road library every year for spring, but there's no space now that it has moved into the new building.

"So Harrow and Wembley members decided we would share an exhibition at the arts centre.

"There's no theme and no selection criteria - so everyone has a chance to have their pictures hung."

The exhibition lines the centre's corridors and features various media, from oil paint and watercolour to charcoal and needlework.

Works have been produced by society members, who range from hobbying artists to members of the Society of Women Artists, which is currently staging an exhibition in central

London. Mrs Mountstephens said: "Everyone in the arts centre has been saying the exhibition is brilliant and they wish they could have pictures up all the time.

"Some of the paintings are of a very high standard and two or three of our members belong to the

Society of Women Artists and are part of an exhibition in central London at the moment."

* The exhibition is open Monday to Saturday, 9.30am-5pm, and Sunday, 11am-4pm. Entry is free.
