The music of Bob Marley accompanied a western-style performance with actors who have learning disabilities in Perivale.

The IMPACT Theatre in Horsenden Lane South, a community arts centre for people with learning difficulties, put on a production of I Shot the Sheriff over the week of May 18-22.

Life-sized puppets also filled the stage for the shows which were a complete sell-out.

Among those who attended were MP for Ealing North Steve Pound, Ealing councillors Munir Ahmed and Tariq Mahmood, and award-winning set designer Eve Stewart.

IMPACT set up its centre with funding from organisations such as the Social Enterprise Investment Fund, Arts Council England, Awards for All, Ealing Council, and the Zurich Community Trust.

IMPACT uses performing and creative arts to enable people with a learning disability to take a more active role in their community.

IMPACT development officer Rustom Davar said: "It was a great experience. Almost all of our 60 service users participated in some way, whether on stage or behind the set.

"It was very well enjoyed by the audience and members said they were already looking forward to next year's show."
