Step aside Miss Trunchbull, Dumbledore and Principal Skinner - there's a new educator in town.

Prepare to be transported back to your school days with a teacher like no other at Chelsea Theatre .

Avant-garde performance artist David Hoyle is set to tear up the textbook to deliver a lesson you'll never forget.

The Prime of Ms David Hoyle , produced and directed by Ben Walters, promises to probe the role of education in society while throwing up plenty of classroom-based humour, provocation and inspiration.

The show, which takes its title from Muriel Spark's The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie , will help you swot up on a sprawling variety of subjects, from truth and beauty to discipline and fascism.

Joining Ms David Hoyle in front of the blackboard will be "teaching assistant" and lingering 60s icon Simone Simone, and there will be guest appearances by young LGBT performers fresh from Carnesky's Finishing School or the Duckie Homosexualist Summer School.

The Prime of Ms David Hoyle is at Chelsea Theatre, in World's End Place, King's Road, Chelsea, from Wednesday, September 14 to Sunday, September 25, at 8pm (4pm on Sundays).

For tickets, starting at just £5 on Wednesdays and Saturdays, visit the Chelsea Theatre website or call the box office on 020 7352 1967.
