Theatre group Zero Plus Theatre together with Tell Tale present a play which examines what else was happening at the same time the First World War was taking place.

1914 - All Our Heroes is set in November 1914 when the Great War was raging over three continents.

Colonial troops including Sikhs from India are adjusting to European cold weather as they train in camps all around the UK.

Meanwhile back in Hounslow demands on farming and industry, the Alien Restriction Act and the drive for recruitment are changing people's lives for ever.

The authorities encourage people to carry on with business as usual.

In Punjab, young men are being recruited to leave their homes and families to go fight for the British Raj in places far away.

The play is being performed on November 22 from 11.30am-12.30pm at the Paul Robeson Theatre, inside Hounslow Library.

Tickets for the show cost £3 for adults and £2 for children and must be purchased in advance from Hounslow Library.
