Flames lit up the waterside as Brentford Lock was transformed into a fire garden on Friday night.

Families wandered among the fiery foliage as they explored the illuminated canal-side landscape during the evening.

Flower boxes crackled as they swayed and floral funnels belched smoke into the air, while a cellist playing in the lock house added to the magical atmosphere.

The glowing sculptures were created by outdoor arts experts Walk the Plank, in conjunction with Watermans arts centre.

The free attraction was the latest in a series of events taking place across the borough in the run-up to Christmas.
