It was Heigh-ho Heigh-ho and off to Richmond we go this week as the stars of this year’s pantomime gathered at Richmond Theatre.
Model, actress and Richmond Theatre Patron, Jerry Hall will be gleefully getting her teeth into the role of the Wicked Queen as she makes her panto debut in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
One of the stars of the 2012 series of Strictly Come Dancing, Jerry Hall is best known for a career, spanning five decades and producing some of the most iconic images in fashion and music.
As an actress, her work has included Hollywood blockbuster Batman directed by Tim Burton, as well as stage appearances in The Graduate, Love Letters and Cole Porter’s High Society.
Taking her place in the cast photocall, Richmond resident Ms Hall said: ‘I look forward to playing the Wicked Queen and working with such a wonderful cast.
“I am excited to camp it up and be glamorously evil and of course my outfits will be fabulous!
“Mick (Jagger) and I have always had a family tradition of taking our children to the Richmond Theatre pantomime every Christmas. I can’t wait to make fun of myself and hear children ‘boo’ at me’.
Richmond Theatre’s General Manager Kate Wrightson said: ‘We are thrilled that Jerry Hall has chosen her local theatre to make her panto debut. Best known to the world as the beautiful blonde Texan, we know her as our neighbour and are proud to have her as part of our local community – perfect casting for south west London’s home of traditional family pantomime. We can’t wait to see her stylish interpretation of the Wicked Queen’.
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs will run at Richmond Theatre from Friday December 5 2014 to Sunday January 11 2015, and following last year’s record breaking production tickets, which are already on sale, are sure to be in short supply.
Also taking roles are TV presenter and panto veteran Chris Jarvis and singer and actress Aimie Atkinson.
Tickets cost from £11.90-£40.40.
